Another absolutely crazy 2US sailing yacht concept with a tilting mast from Steve Kozloff. The first details about the new project from Interparus!
What is known about 2US?
Apparently, it’s time to open a separate section “Steve Kozloff’s Concepts” on the site. The yacht designer consistently publishes his absolutely amazing concepts with enviable regularity. Examples of Steve's other work can be found here, here or here.

So, next up we have a new brainchild of the shadowy genius of a yacht designer called 2US. As conceived by Steve himself, this yacht is designed for a married couple. According to the press release, the yacht can be operated by two or a full team.
Interestingly, the dimensions of the 2US are more than impressive - the total length of the body will be about 40 meters. In total, there will be as many as five full-size decks on board, on which cabins will be located for crew, guests and owners.

For guests and owners there are: a master cabin (will have an area of 35 square meters), one VIP cabin for guests and two double cabins. The exact numbers of crew cabins are not specified, but it is known that there will be three crew members in total.
Technological delights
According to Kozloff, the yacht should be a reimagining of research yachts. The hull will be certified for navigation in polar regions, that is, it will be protected from ice. However, the most interesting solution in 2US is the sail.

We have already written that Wingsail and Solid Sail technologies are gradually gaining recognition among builders large passenger and merchant ships. Steve Kozloff decided to keep up with the trend and used Solid Sail technology as a starting point in creating his concept.
The 2US will be equipped with a Solid Sail designed by the French company Chantiers de L'Atlantique. The yacht's mast is 43 meters high. Due to problems with passage under bridges, Steve decided to make a mast that could tilt backwards. With standard sails this is much more difficult to do than with the Solid Sail system. And thanks to new technologies, 2US will be able to enter very secluded bays and marinas.

If we talk about engines, then the owner will find a standard marine diesel engine. Under the 2US engine it will be able to travel about 10,000 km (!). In addition to the main engine, there is also an auxiliary power unit on board. Only under sail will the 2US be able to reach a speed of 10 knots at full heading.
Features 2US
Another feature of the Solid Sail system will be a crane that will be built into the boom. It is expected that with its help water toys, tenders, and provisions will be loaded on board.
According to the designer's idea, a garage for a tender the full width of the yacht will occupy a place amidships on the starboard side. This compartment can accommodate 2 small tenders or RIBs, as well as a submarine U-Boat Worx NEMO. There will be a full-fledged helipad at the stern.
One of the interesting features of the site is that it will be synchronized with the yacht’s stabilization system. This is done to provide immobility for safe takeoff and landing.
