Fountaine Pajot continues to expand its range of sailing catamarans. Interparus will tell you about the New 44, the shipyard's newest catamaran.
Unexpected novelty Fountaine Pajot New 44
Unexpectedly, during the event boot Düsseldorf 2025, the Fountaine Pajot shipyard has unveiled a new catamaran. The new product has been given the temporary name New 44, and we have something to tell you about!

Development of design ideas of Fountaine Pajot
Ever since the announcement of the "little brother" New 41 in September last year it became clear that the Fountaine Pajot shipyard had set a course for changing the design of its catamarans. In this regard, the New 44 looks like a natural development of the ideas laid down in the shipyard's previous catamaran:
- the body design has become more aerodynamic;
- the interior has received direct “integration” with the external space closer to the stern;
- a large number of skylights and glass - even more natural light in the saloon and cabins;
- The steering post has also been updated;
- The interior is done in pleasant pastel colours, and most of the surfaces have pleasant rounded outlines.
Overall, the New 44, like the New 41, sets a new direction for the shipyard. In addition, both catamarans have full electric and hybrid versions. This is in line with Fountaine Pajot’s ambitious plan for electrification and reducing its carbon footprint.
Let's take a closer look at each aspect of the new New 44 sailing catamaran.
Exterior and deck of Fountaine Pajot New 44
Let's start with the bow. Fountaine Pajot seems to be moving away from the use of tension nets between the hulls and for the second time offers a rigid bulkhead. On this very bulkhead, closer to the midship, there is a "sofa" on which you can sunbathe and relax. In the official promotional materials, this place is called the "bow cockpit".
To get to the saloon or the stern, you need to walk along the wide side walkways. In the upper part of both hulls, there are square skylights, five on each side. By the way, you can get to the steering post in two ways - from the left hull and from the main cockpit.

The main cockpit has plenty of seating for guests and crew. To the left is a table for al fresco dining. The renderings don't fully indicate whether the table can be lifted, but it's safe to assume that it can. To the right is a staircase leading to the helm and flybridge.
A hydraulic bathing platform is installed at the stern, the path to which is open from both sides. In addition, a metal ladder for climbing out of the water is installed on the left hull.
Flybridge and helm New 44
The New 44's helm post is very similar to that of the New 41, with the only difference being that there's more room on the new model. There's a comfortable place for the skipper behind the wheel, and the controls are located on the roof of the cabin.

The winches and the steering wheel are separated by the same staircase leading to the flybridge. This location of the steering post offers an excellent view not only of the sea, but also of everything that happens in the cockpit and deck of the catamaran.
The New 44 flybridge also pleased with its dimensions - instead of two modest pillows on the New 41, there is room for a full-fledged sofa. Again, unlike the previous model, the boom is installed higher on the New 44, so you don’t have to worry about a sudden “hit” on your head. The boom-sheet track is installed behind the sofa. Solar panels are also installed on the flybridge.
Interior New 44
The saloon is separated from the main cockpit by elegant glass doors, which can be left open in good weather conditions. The main interior space is equipped with a large galley, an impressive U-shaped sofa, two tables (coffee and kitchen), and a large number of lockers. Thanks to the size of the inspection hatches, the saloon has a good view and lighting.

There are two versions of the New 44, Maestro and Quatuor. The first version is more suitable for private owners, as it offers a standard configuration for Fountaine Pajot catamarans: the left hull is allocated for the owner, and the right has two cabins for guests. The Quatuor version is designed for charter owners or lovers of large companies and offers two cabins in each hull.
Electric version of the sailing catamaran New 44
The standard version of the New 44 comes with 30 hp or, optionally, 45 hp internal combustion engines. The fuel tank has a capacity of 700 liters, which, combined with the sail and wind force, will allow long cruises without stopping for refueling.
The electric version can offer the following interesting features:
- two electric motors with a power of 25 kW;
- 24 kW generator;
- two 24 kW batteries with the possibility of upgrading to 27 kW;
- hydrogeneration;
- solar panels with a capacity of up to 2300 W;
- 6 kW inverter.
Both versions should be excellent for both long and short coastal cruising.
Conclusions on Fountaine Pajot New 44
The new model looks fresh without going beyond the usual Fountaine Pajot innovations. Pleasant design, a range of available features and large spaces below deck make the New 44 an excellent choice for cruise lovers and charter owners.

So far we only have renders on hand, so it's a long way from a real analysis. But at this stage, the new product looks good, fits perfectly into the new style and direction of the company. We are looking forward to live photos and new details.
