Steve Kozloff once again excites the public with a new concept. Interparus will talk about the new underwater superyacht Deep Sea Dreamer.
And again super concepts
Steve Kozloff is well known to our regular readers. This is the man responsible for the incredible concepts luxury superyacht 2US, gigantic trimaran Epiphany, 100 meter trimaran The Trident and three-masted superyachts Glory. Recently, Steve decided to conquer a new peak (although it would be more correct to say depth) - and presented the concept of an underwater superyacht.
Kozloff shared that for a very long time he and his wife Terry have been dreaming of going on a trip to the depths of the sea. The designer transferred his dream to paper and this is how this crazy concept appeared.
According to Steve's idea, the hull of the submarine yacht should be made of durable reinforced steel, and the salon should offer views of the sea depths through large inspection hatches. Deep Sea Dreamer should also be able to operate on the surface, just like a regular motor yacht.
Features of Deep Sea Dreamer
In creating this concept, Steve took the technical side of design much more seriously. The superyacht must be equipped with a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system. Two Cummins engines, one electric motor and as many as 10 (!) thrusters will be installed on board.
In hybrid travel mode (meaning partial submersion mode), a large exhaust pipe will remain on the surface, which will also be used for air intake. The superyacht will be able to sail at a maximum speed of 10 knots. At the same time, according to the designer, the autonomous navigation range will be 6,000 nautical miles. Claimed cruising speed is 6 knots.
Deep Sea Dreamer will also be able to dive to depths of up to 100 meters. The onboard batteries and generator power should be enough for a week of scuba diving.
Alas, the yacht’s “environmental friendliness” leaves much to be desired. According to the press release, Deep Sea Dreamer will only be able to travel 100 nautical miles on electric power before the batteries run out.
Interior of Deep Sea Dreamer
The interior of the luxury submarine is more reminiscent of the interiors of superyachts. There will be two large decks on board. Each deck will have a recreation area of 130 square meters. For quick movement around the yacht, a full-fledged elevator will be installed.
The master cabin will span the entire width of the hull. The total area of the owner's cabin will be 25 square meters. In addition, there will be two more guest cabins and a separate crew cabin on board.
The highlight of the interior is the large panoramic viewing salon. Through it, guests will be able to view in detail all the wonders of the ocean. Deep Sea Dreamer will also have an external deck where guests can spend their leisure time while on the surface. The total area of the above-water deck will be 233 square meters.
