Montenegro is a fertile land for tourists and yachtsmen who want to spend a few unforgettable days in peace. Interparus shares potential places for recreation and sailing!
Herceg Novi
If suddenly you have already visited Croatia and immediately headed to Montenegro, then the first transshipment point will most likely be Herceg Novi. It is the administrative center of the municipality of the same name. The local marina has 70 available berths for yachts up to 50 meters in length. The main feature of the marina is the 24-hour work of the port captain.
The marina staff is also friendly and famous for its responsiveness. The marina in Herceg Novi is open to everyone. The marina is quite popular and regularly receives tourist boats. Because of this, it can be quite noisy here during the day. However, by evening the city gradually calms down and you can relax calmly after the day's sailing. Water, electricity and fuel are available to every yachtsman.

The local markets are also famous for their variety and freshness of products. Local fruits and vegetables are available in large quantities and equally varied. If cooking is not part of your plans, then restaurants, bars and cafes will come to the rescue.
If you want to rent a boat, then in Herceg Novi there may be problems with this, since charter is not very developed here.
Tivat and Porto Montenegro
One of the best starting points is Tivat and Port Montenegro. In Porto Montenegro you can find everything a modern yachtsman needs - a new marina, first-class restaurants, shops and hotels. It’s a pleasure to dine in these establishments after a busy sailing party!
If you are not only an avid yachtsman, but also a lover of luxury, then there is a separate part of the marina especially for you, where superyachts are located. These yachts are here on a permanent basis and in very large numbers. Nobody forbids you to look at them.

Another advantage of Porto Montenegro is its location. The marina is located next to the international Airport (10-15 minutes by taxi), so for lovers of charter cruises, getting to the boat will be quite easy. Tivat Airport accepts direct flights from a great variety of European cities.
A few words about the charter. Porto Montenegro has a large selection of yachts for charter from different manufacturers. Monohulls, multihulls, cruisers and day-sellers – you can find anything here. By the way, our base is located in Port Montenegro!
Portonovi
The marina in Portonovi is the ideal place for a safe rest between sailings. The marina has more than 200 mooring spaces for yachts of any size from 10 to 120 meters. Like Porto Montenegro, there are quite a few superyachts here.

If you need to complete any documents related to the yacht, customs officers who work from 7 am to 8 pm every day will come to your aid. Other amenities include a fuel station and quality service. However, in all marinas in Montenegro, the service is beyond praise.
The presence of bars and restaurants in a busy marina is no longer a new thing, but in Portonovi it’s worth checking out at least a couple of them. There is also a good selection of fresh vegetables and seafood. The supermarket at the marina, as usual, raises prices, so it’s better to go to local markets and shops.
Kotor
The ancient city of Kotor dates back to 168 AD! Over the past centuries, Kotor has preserved many architectural and historical monuments, so if you are a history buff, then your course lies at the marina in Kotor.
The marina itself is very nice, but, alas, not very big. If you want to visit the city, you will have to make reservations in advance. However, size does not affect functionality at all - the marina provides all the amenities for yachtsmen.

After you go ashore and resupply, the question arises of which places are worth visiting. If walking along the pretty streets is not enough (and this will definitely not be enough), then it is worth taking a walk in the nearby neighborhoods. The local views are definitely worth the travel time. The trails here are moderate, and along them you can often find shepherd's huts. The same shepherds will happily sell you real sheep cheese.
Another attraction of Kotor is the fortress. For almost 10 centuries (from the 9th to the 19th), the city walls were continuously built and renovated. The total length of the fortifications in 2023 is 4.5 kilometers, the height of the fortress wall in some places is about 20 meters, and the thickness is as much as 16!
The highest point of the fortifications is located at an altitude of 260 m! And here is the fortress of St. John. It’s worth a visit, gain strength, stock up on water and hit the road. There are gorgeous views from the top and your efforts will be rewarded with unforgettable impressions and great photos!
Lustica, Budva and Bar
Lustica is a peninsula in the Bay of Kotor. Lustica has a wonderful marina, Lustica Bay Marina, with 50 berths for yachts up to 45 meters in length. The marina has all the necessary amenities, including 24-hour security and video surveillance.

On the peninsula itself there are many beautiful places where you can be alone with nature. We warn wildlife lovers against reckless, lonely forays into the local surroundings, as wild boars and jackals live here. However, you can safely move along the beaten tourist paths.
Another must-see place is Budva. There is also a large marina with 300 berths for yachts up to 70 meters in length. Everything necessary for the maintenance and repair of yachts is available.

Outside the marina, it is worth visiting the St. Mary's Fortress and the city walls. If you prefer warm sun and sea, then there are several sandy beaches at your disposal. And children will be delighted with the local water park.
The city of Bar is optional for visiting. Why optional? There are several reasons for this. Among the advantages of the local marina, it is worth highlighting its excellent repair facilities, as well as the provision of customs services. However, the site is poorly protected from the western and northern winds. From a tourist point of view, it is not very interesting for the average tourist.
