Cannes Yachting Festival 2023 will be full of surprises. Among them is the new Neuboat Dock device. Interparus shares the first details!
The first step towards autonomous navigation
The South Korean company Avikus, in collaboration with Raymarine, will soon present a new platform. According to the companies, this platform “will pave the way for the creation of a fully autonomous navigation system.” Such a platform will be the Neuboat Dock, which the companies are going to present at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2023.
According to a press release, Neuboat Dock is a set of tools to simplify the mooring of yachts of different sizes. Thanks to a system of cameras and sensors, the Neuboat Dock provides the skipper with a 360-degree view.
The image on the main monitor, which will be located in front of the skipper, is generated using six cameras mounted at different points on the yacht. Thanks to them, you can not only feel more confident when mooring, but also “have improved situational awareness of what is happening overboard.”
The user is able to independently select the main camera and fine-tune each of the 6 cameras. The system is fully compatible with Raymarine devices.
Neuboat Dock Features
According to the company, the system can be configured both on land and on water using ordinary WiFi or a router YachtSense. The Neuboat Dock system is aimed at yachts with a length of 10 meters or more. The first deliveries are expected in October this year.
Avikus and Raymarine's goal is to create a system that is capable of mooring in a fully automatic mode. This will not only make life easier for ordinary yachtsmen, but will also be useful for yachting enthusiasts with health problems who find it difficult to moor on their own.
The collaboration between Raymarine and Avikus began in 2022. A year later, the two companies consolidated their cooperation by starting work on a new joint project.
