Marc de Gellink, director of the Trinit-sur-Mer marina, part of the Ports of Morbiana, together with BoatIndustry, summarizes the large working projects for the creation of water and coastal infrastructure, awaiting their turn
Reconstruction of port shops and creation of Lab'Océan
The Morbihan Ports Company has announced a series of investments in the port of La Trinité sur Mer.
Its director, Marc de Gellinck, explains in detail the plans and timetable. “The main thing that should be emphasized is the desire to continue to invest in a tool to maintain a high level of quality, supported in this direction by the department.”
The entire northern area of the shopping center will be rebuilt on the shore. The construction permit for these premises, which will house skippers and maritime transport specialists, is scheduled to be submitted in early February 2021. “The work should begin after the 2021 season and will last for about fifteen months. The merchants will be relocated to a temporary village, ”explains the port director.
The manager also restored the former Ifremer building, which was transferred to him by the department.
“We want to turn it into a signature hotel dedicated to the sea called Lab'Océan, which will include a work area and meeting rooms.
The management and basic animation of this kind of building will be entrusted to a third party based on the results of the announced competition of candidates.
Everything should be ready by 2023, ”explains Marc de Gellink.
Works on transshipment of goods in the port and protection of the reservoir
The work will also cover port infrastructure.
In the southern part, raising the middle level and the breakwater will improve the protection of the reservoir. The relocation of the slipway will increase the storage capacity for Société Nautique de la Trinité sur Mer (SNT) boats.
In the northern part of the port, the pier will also be enlarged and the loading and unloading dock will be expanded.
"We will expand the lift from 4.80 m to 6 m."
The platform of the jib crane will be upgraded, with a second jib crane if necessary.
Radome water purification will be revised towards greater efficiency and will need to match Crouesty's level.
The toilet will be available 24 hours a day for all yachtsmen free of charge.
We are in a basin vulnerable to oysters and are aware of the importance of this topic.
The above work can begin in the fall of 2022, as well as over the next 2 years, ”the director points out.
Port development onshore
The port of La Trinité-sur-Mer is also in the process of completing a land acquisition in Kermarker, 2 km from the water.
“This offshore platform in Kermarker will expand the onshore port proposal by increasing the port's capacity by 250 onshore boats.
In the summer, the site will be able to serve as an unloading car park for our sailing clients with a transfer service.
This last facility can be commissioned at the beginning of the second half of 2022, ”concludes Marc de Gellink.
