Akdeniz Port includes a 235-berth marina operated by Setur Marinas
Marina Setur Antalya
Marina Setur Antalya, opened in 1991, is located inside Antalya's commercial port behind a massive breakwater.
Global Ports Holdings (GPH), the world's largest cruise port operator registered in London, has completed the sale of its subsidiary Ortadoğu Antalya Liman İşletmeleri A.Ş., which serves Antalya's commercial port (called Akdeniz Port - Antalya), to the Qatari entity QTerminals WLL for 140 million US dollars (115.4 million euros).
The deal implies that GPH will sell its one port, which includes facilities other than cruise ships.
GPH says the sale will expand the geographic diversification of the business as a result of the sale of the Turkish port, while Turkey's share of the group's revenues will be significantly reduced.
Akdeniz Port manages Akdeniz Antalya Port under a concession agreement that expires in August 2028.
The company reported revenue of $25 million and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of $18.2 million for the first nine months of 2020.
QTerminals is a service company established by the Port of Qatar in cooperation with logistics providers Mwani Qatar and Milaha.
Marina Setur Antalya is located in Antalya's commercial port and offers 235 “wet berths” for yachts up to 90 meters (295 feet) in length.
She also boasts a dedicated superyacht dock, 150 “dry berths” on a 30,000 square meter solid dock, and a range of yacht repair, refurbishment and maintenance services, which include two mobile lifts with a lifting capacity of 75 and 200 tonnes. ...
There is also a 900 sq.m. paint hangar.
Marina Setur Antalya is at least 4 m (13 ft) deep and protected by powerful breakwaters in the port.
A division of the Turkish business group Koc, which also owns the RMK shipyard in Istanbul, Setur Marinas maintains a network of 11 marinas in Turkey.
Antalya Marina serves as a yacht center, where a large number of boats come every year to enjoy the magnificent tourist attractions, including archaeological sites, historical sites, golf clubs, as well as beaches, mountains and landscapes of extraordinary beauty.
Antalya also has an international airport, making it an ideal base for starting or ending a yacht charter.
Marina has both a Blue Flag and five gold anchors.
In addition, not owned by the port operator, Antalya Free Trade Zone is located in the immediate vicinity of the port and is the largest yacht and superyacht building facility in Turkey.
There are about 20 companies involved in the construction and refurbishment of yachts in this area.
