Thinking about choosing an electric outboard motor for your tender or RIB? No problem, Interparus will tell you about three outboard motors for all occasions!
Electric motor Remigo One
Simple and intuitive is how reviewers describe this engine. Forget about external cables, possible hassle with wiring or other difficulties, because Remigo is free of these disadvantages.
This electric motor is mounted on a bracket. Remigo performs well in comparison with other similar engines. It especially stands out among others due to its maneuverability. On Remigo you can engage reverse with just one button press.

However, this barrel of honey also has its own fly in the ointment. Remigo does not have the ability to change the battery, so if it breaks, you will have to try very hard to repair the device.
In all other respects, this is an ideal electric motor for those who don’t want to bother. The whole essence of Remigo comes down to the simple formula “attach it to a bracket and float.”
Advantages: convenient design, easy to fold, relatively light weight, easy installation and removal.
Disadvantages: inability to remove the battery.
Weight | 12 kg |
Total weight with bracket | 14.5 kg |
Capacity | 1085 W/h |
Max Speed | 9.66 km/h |
ePropulsion Spirit 1.0 EVO electric motor
The brainchild of the Chinese company ePropulsion - the Spirit line - is one of the most popular in the entire market. The company itself has been developing a variety of outboard electric motors using lithium battery technology for several years.
Spirit 1.0 EVO stands out from its competitors due to its quiet operation and battery capacity. Among other features of the engine, I would like to highlight its “unsinkability”. Spirit 1.0 EVO is designed in such a way that if it is unexpectedly submerged under water (for example, it falls off the bracket), the engine will not go to the bottom, but will float up.

The engine also has a relatively simple battery replacement mechanism, making it a one-man operation. The Spirit 1.0 EVO also has a display, like other modern engines. It will inform you about the power consumption, voltage and remaining operating time.
Advantages: Large battery capacity, quiet, rotates 360 degrees, does not sink.
Disadvantages: The display functionality could be wider.
Weight | 10.5 kg |
Battery weight | 9 kg |
Battery capacity | 1276 Wh |
Max Speed | 7.24 – 9.66 km/h (depending on tender type) |
Electric motor Torqeedo 1103
Torqeedo is ePropulsion's main competitor. The companies have spent the last 15 years in a fierce struggle for the love of the public. The latest engines of the companies are very similar to each other, but still have quite significant differences.
So, the Torqeedo 1103 model has a power of 1.1 kW and is equipped with a removable battery. The engine has very convenient slots for the battery, thanks to which it is possible to install the battery literally with one hand.

Another advantage of Torqeedo is its display. Although it is small, it contains data on battery voltage and capacity, range, speed data, as well as power consumption in watts. Among the disadvantages of the display, I would like to highlight its dimensions - sometimes it is problematic to read anything on it. This more than pays off thanks to a phone application that picks up engine performance data.
The clamping screws and fittings are made of stainless steel, making the motor suitable for use in salt water. Of the minuses, the Torqeedo 1103 cannot rotate 360 degrees, although the tiller travel is still decent.
Advantages: reliable and proven brand, easy to replace battery, removable battery and tiller, wide range of data on the display.
Disadvantages: The display is not large enough, there may be some difficulties with installation.
Motor weight | 11 kg |
Battery weight | 6 kg |
Battery capacity | 915 Wh |
Max Speed | 7.24 – 9.66 km/h (depending on tender type) |
