More about the project:
78-foot (23.7-meter) vesseldesigned Marlena Ratajska, consumes energy from the sun using an optimized design SWATH (Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull), in other words, the design of the catamaran.
Werner Vögeli, CEO of SolarImpact Yacht AG, commented:
"SolarImpact is synonymous with modern shipbuilding when it comes to fluid mechanics, high-efficiency energy technologies and environmental sustainability. Our concept avoids noise and CO2 emissions and is therefore an important step towards e-mobility in the maritime sector. "
In truth, this gives some hope that such projects are not a utopia, that they will not only develop more actively in the foreseeable future, but will also become an affordable alternative to motor yachts, the so-called "fuel eaters" that keep away from environmental problems. and do not even partially solve the issues of fuel economy, thereby causing colossal damage to the environment.
