Meanwhile, we recall that Perini Navi was acquired by the conglomerate The Italian Sea Group in 2021. After this event, the shipyard did not produce new yachts and catamarans. The ArtExplorer project was the first in a long time.
And so, at the boat show in Monaco this year, Perini Navi presented its 46.5-meter aluminum catamaran ArtExplorer. At the moment, the new product from Perini Navi is the largest aluminum catamaran on the planet!
The catamaran was booked by charter agency Fraser. According to the company, ArtExplorer will be used as a floating gallery. According to plans, the catamaran will make a two-year circumnavigation of the world. After it, ArtExplorer will be available for classic private charter to everyone.
Features of ArtExplorer
The shipyard paid special attention to the flybridge. It will be used not only for recreation, but also as a place for conferences, seminars and classes. In addition, the flybridge is proposed to be used for virtual exhibitions.

Nearby, on the roof of the cabin, there are solar panels with a total coverage area of 65 sq.m. According to the press release, the batteries are capable of producing up to 12 kW of electricity and storing more than 200 kW in batteries.
Other features include the ability to control a huge catamaran with a very small crew. All controls are automated and located at the helmsman's post, which allows one skipper to control the movement of ArtExplorer. Thanks to the intelligent sail control system, the catamaran is capable of reaching speeds of 10 knots even in very light winds.

In addition, the catamaran is positioned as “almost completely environmentally friendly.” Special systems are installed on board that control emissions into the atmosphere. The catamaran is able to remain completely autonomous due to solar panels for 6 hours without stopping.
