February 24 was the anniversary of the start of a full-scale war - we are talking about how our Ukrainian production facilities continue their work in the conditions of war!
A year of loss, loss and hope
After February 24, 2022, the life of all Ukrainians and Europeans was divided into “before” and “after”. It is difficult to remember the anniversary of the beginning of the war - February 24 was difficult for everyone, but the same for everyone.
However, despite this, we persevered and moved on. It is amazing how sometimes the decadent moods of the first hours and days of the war turned into hopes for victory. Ukraine continues to work and live. No “shaheeds” and “calibers”, as practice has shown, are not a hindrance to this.
The same applies to the enterprises of the yachting sector in Ukraine. Although there were few before the war, many of them still continue their work.
Manufacture of boats and boats
Alas, there were no full-fledged shipyards for the mass production of sailing boats in Ukraine even before the war. However, we had a sufficient number of manufacturers of inflatable boats, RIBs and boats.
Among them is the Kiev boat manufacturer UMS. UMS Marine has been producing aluminum boats under the Tuna and UMS brands since 2000. The company's products are widely distributed in Ukraine, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and many other countries of the world. UMS Marine has a wide range of models - from four meter boats to large and powerful eight meter boats. For special purpose services, the company produces boats over 12 meters.
UMS continues to operate despite the war. On their Facebook page, you can regularly see reports of new boats commissioned and what plans for the near future.
Another company that continues to work and raise the economy of Ukraine was Grand. The Grand company specializes in the production of RIBs. Grand Marine was founded in 2011 in Kharkov. At the moment, it is one of the world's leading manufacturers of RIBs (rigid bottom inflatable boats).
The situation with Grand Marine is similar to UMS - both companies operate under constant air raid alerts and missiles overhead.
Equipment production
In addition to the watercraft itself, brands of clothing and equipment are also represented in Ukraine. Some of the most popular in our country and abroad are REwind and Ordana.
REwind is a fairly new Ukrainian brand, which appeared thanks to the community of skippers, captains and yachtsmen, united in the Maritime community. The brand produces clothes for sports, and also helped Ukrainian soldiers with equipment.
Ordana is a manufacturer of high-tech sportswear for water sports and tourism. The company has been in business since 1992 and serves thousands of clients around the world, including Olympic medalists and world champions. All products are made in Ukraine.
This is only a small part of those heroes who, in spite of everything, keep the country's business afloat. Every businessman, entrepreneur, worker is in his place and on his front helps the state in this difficult time.
Work difficulties
Now the main problem in regions where there is no active hostilities is air raid alerts. According to safety regulations, workers must leave their workplaces and go to shelter after they hear the alarm.
All this can not but affect the quality of work. At times, an air raid alert can last up to several hours, and all this time the workers just have to wait. However, the safety of human life is much more important than a boat made on time or a set of sweatpants.
With regions such as Kharkiv, the situation is a bit more complicated. Almost daily, the city of Kharkiv itself, its environs and the region are under fire from the Russian Federation. And despite this, our companies continue to fulfill orders and work.
