The 2016 Optimist African Team Racing Championship in Luanda, the capital of Angola, has finished today.

Many things contributed to the overall success of this day: great race, good music, and great audience. There was a 'wall' of fans who enthusiastically watched the rivals' competitions. The Optimist class teams received tremendous support, as did the event as a whole.

International Optimist Class Association expressed her gratitude to everyone who became part of this event:
'Many thanks to all the participants, organizers, teams, race committee, jury, volunteers, authorities, supporters, families and all the tourists who are staying. '
Angola became the winner in the race for gold with the # 1 national sailing team. Algeria Team won silver, and Mozambique team took bronze. Congratulations to all!

Angola - a country that loves sailing - and International Optimist Class Association (IODA - International Optimist Dinghy Class) proved to be very successful in this friendly event, organized in such a way that the public can enjoy.
