Recent exhibitions pleased not only with a large number of boats and world premieres. A lot of new equipment was also presented at the stands. We are talking about two novelties of the season - the Triton Edge processor and the EnergyMatic propeller.
Triton Edge
Triton Edge is a brand new B&G processor. It will allow users to improve and control sail data to maximize the performance of boats and their sail systems for cruising or racing. Among the features of the device is the ability to connect to a smartphone, tablet or PC.
Triton Edge can also be used without a third party connection. But with this option, it can be calibrated and adjusted more precisely. Also, when connected, advanced settings are available.
The processor is designed for simplicity and ease of installation. It integrates seamlessly with existing Triton, H5000 and Nemesis systems. The processor can also be linked to the B&G App to record, view and share data.
Other B&G innovations
B&G will be showcasing some of its new products at the Southampton show. The exhibition, by the way, is already in full swing. Other B&G products on display include ZeusTM3S multifunction display, NemesisTM, WS320 wireless wind sensor, Vulcan chartplotter, Triton2.
Visitors can also explore the B&G App. The app is free to download. The B&G App offers rich features including chartplotter mirroring, up-to-date and detailed C-MAP charts, personalized waypoints, routes and tracks, up-to-date weather data, personalization and more.
All B&G products are compatible with C-MAP charts. C-MAP REVEAL maps offer separate areas of dynamic raster maps. The maps are distinguished by "providing the traditional look and feel of a paper map, with easy access to all the features on it, and a satellite overlay that provides an additional level of situational awareness, with thousands of photographs of marinas, harbors, bays and other prominent navigational features." At least that's what the manufacturers say.
Ewol propeller
Propeller manufacturer EWOL has announced its new technological creation - EnergyMatic. It is a propeller for sailing yachts that will provide minimum drag when sailing on boats with hydraulic or electric propulsion.
EnergyMatic is a lightweight, high performance and high tech propeller. It allows you to "change the pitch to increase the cruising speed of the engine and facilitate maneuverability during mooring maneuvers."
With this propeller, there is no need to turn off the engine and engage reverse gear to increase ground speed. Another distinctive feature of the EnergyMatic is the "charging" position. This mode turns the propeller shaft into a "hydraulic generator". Those. it not only protects the batteries, but also charges them very efficiently. This is very important for boats with a 100% electric or hybrid propulsion system or a shaft connected alternator. So it will be possible to charge your batteries by simply swimming in the "charging" mode.
Like other EWOL propellers, it is made entirely of stainless steel for maximum mechanical strength, resistance to galvanic corrosion and product reliability.
