If you are looking for a 30ft / 9m yacht, then you already know that almost all shipyards can offer a boat in this size and usually as an "entry level" model. But despite a lot of competition, the Dufour 310 is confidently leading in its niche.

A 5-point wind (16-20 knots) from the east welcomed the boat as it passed the bridge between Drakes Island and Cornwall into Plymouth Sound under engine Volvo with SailDrive 20 HP at 2500 rpm. During the test drive, the wind strength dropped slightly to 4 points. Outside the breakwater at Plymouth, there was little swell and long waves that reached 1 foot in height. The test yacht was equipped with a single reef in the mainsail and a fully automatic staysail.
Dufour 310 handled the conditions well. The helm was easy to handle and the boat remained in control thanks to its dual rudders, while the twin rudders provide incomparable steering precision. While the helm may seem unstable next to the transom, in practice it proves to be very reliable and safe.

Sailing yacht Dufour Grand Large 310 features a robust fiberglass hull and a foam-filled sandwich panel deck. The sails are easy to handle as the sail plan is very simple. Genoa, with sheets and large main winches, are optional. The boom sheet is controlled with a bridle rope in front of the gangway and the sheet is returned to the winch Lewmar 30 on the roof of the cabin on the port side.
