Mojito 32 is a compact eco-yacht with a spacious interior and ocean racing speed. Interparus will tell you about the new Mojito 32 and its interesting features.
Modern architecture of the building
The Mojito 32 takes the characteristics of ocean racing yachts and brings them into the world of cruising yachting. The hull is made using an infusion method using flax fiber, PET and cork material, which allows for a significantly lower environmental footprint during construction.
At the same time, the boat surprises with its volume inside, opening up wide possibilities: from coastal walks to long-distance crossings across the Atlantic. The Mojito 32 is a variation of the scow yacht.
In a nutshell about scow boats
A scow is a special type of sailboat and yacht hull. Unlike classic forms with a narrowed bow, a scow has a wide and rounded bow that resembles a "shovel" or "barge".
The main features of the skolo boat:
- Wide bow. Instead of a sharp wedge-shaped stem, a rounded shape.
- High stability. Due to the width of the hull, the boat is more stable on course, especially when heeling.
- Full-course speed. This geometry allows for high average speeds when sailing downwind or at an angle to it.
- Additional interior space. The extended bow allows for more spacious cabins, which is rare for yachts of short length.
Eco-materials and sustainable production
The Idbmarine shipyard in Concarneau, France, applies technologies proven on the Maxi 650. The hull and deck are made using an infusion process based on sandwich panels of PET foam and cork material, reinforced with flax fibre and polyester resin.
This approach allows to minimize the use of traditional PVC and fiberglass, reducing the carbon footprint of the building. The interior fittings are digitally cut from sandwich panels, which further reduces waste.
The Mojito 32 is 9.80 m long. Architects David Raison and Pierre Dellion have used a chine-shaped outline with a rounded bow, a characteristic feature of racing projects in recent years. This shape offers two key advantages at once: the Mojito 32 will be able to boast high average speeds, especially on full courses, and additional space in the bow. For the owner, this means a cabin comparable in size to 36-38-foot yachts, which is extremely rare in this segment.
The Mojito 32 is equipped with a three-cylinder Yanmard 3YM20 engine with a capacity of 21 hp with a folding propeller and a 40-liter tank. The manufacturer also offers an electric version of the boat: with an installed Sailmaster 7A (BellMarine) system with energy recovery through hydrogen generation.
Habitability and ergonomics of the interior
The wide hull allows for a spacious layout. Naturally, spacious in the context of a scow boat. In the bow there is a double cabin (2 m x 1.60 m), in the stern there is another horizontal berth, located in a narrow niche. In the salon there are two additional berths and numerous lockers for storage.
The main interior space is a light salon with panoramic glazing in the roof, typical for the entire Mojito line. The galley is equipped with a two-burner stove and a sink, complemented by 200-liter water tanks.
The navigation table and the bathroom with a marine toilet, shower and a cabinet with finishing are highlighted separately. Elements of natural linen were left in the interior decoration, emphasizing the shipyard's focus on environmentally friendly shipbuilding.
Rotating keel and the ability to land on the ground
The Mojito 32 retains the key features of the Idbmarine DNA - a cast iron pivot keel with an electromechanical hydraulic drive. With a variable draft from 1.00 to 2.73 m, the yacht combines high performance under sail with easy access to shallow anchorages.
This system also allows the boat to be leveled on the ground if the support legs are installed. Control is provided by two curved rudders connected by a central tiller. This proven solution, already used on previous models of the Mojito line, fully meets the needs of yachtsmen who combine ocean crossings with visits to shallow bays.
From family cruises to transatlantic races
The sail area reaches 63 m², and the asymmetric spinnaker exceeds 100 m². In favorable conditions, the Mojito 32 develops an average speed of 13-14 knots. The A, B category certificate and spacious interior allow the yacht to participate in a variety of programs: from family cruises to offshore regattas and even transatlantic races in the double-handed format (i.e. with a team of two people).
Mojito 32 Specifications
The Mojito 32 will make its public debut at the Grand Pavois show in La Rochelle from 23 to 28 September 2025. It is there that visitors will see for the first time the production configuration of this Idbmarine scow cruising yacht.
