During the 2016 World Sailing Annual Conference in Barcelona in early November, 20 winners were presented, nominated for the Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image Award for Best Yacht Photography 2016. On November 29, during the International Yacht Racing Forum 2016 in Malta, the official award ceremony was held.
149 photographers from 25 countries took part, presenting their work to the jury. At the first stage of selection, 80 best pictures were selected by a group of international professional yacht photographers, which allowed an international jury to choose from 80 participants - 20 best. Online voting is still open, and is not limited to the top twenty pictures selected by the jury.
The best yacht photos of 2016
This year's winner is a Frenchman Jean-Marie Lyot (Jean-marie liot) who has been an official photographer for 20 years Tour de France a la Voile.

First launched in 2010, Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image Award is the world's first sailing photography competition. The photographs are incredible at capturing the essence and excitement of the sport. The photos presented this year were seen by more than one million people. This opens up an opportunity for all representatives of the yachting industry to show their work and share their passion with a wide audience.
