Moreover, throughout the journey, young activists will collect and test water samples for FreshWater Watch... This project explores the health of freshwater ecosystems around the world and seeks to find solutions to tackle pollution.
The Anna and Keith route involves visiting 13 European countries and 4 capitals, and the path will also pass almost the entire length of the Danube. Having hit the road in April, the girls are now on the Main, en route to Frankfurt, Germany. They make their way inland along rivers and waterways, leaving Britain, the English Channel, France, and Belgium behind, spending most of their nights in tents.

When they reach the Danube for the second half of the 2,400 km journey, the kayakers will pass through 9 more countries bordering this river - Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova and Ukraine - before they finally reach to the Black Sea. If all goes according to plan, Anna and Kate should reach their ultimate goal between three and a half to four months from the start.
On this brave expedition, in the fight for health and life, specialists in marine safety equipment volunteered to help the British Ocean Signal and WesCom Signal and Rescue, and sponsored by such companies as Helly Hansen and Overboard.
