Exactly one year ago, during the Parisian boat show Nautic Paris 2017, the French shipyard Dufour announced the launch of the new brand Dufour Catamarans and the first model of the Dufour 48 Catamaran catamaran. The scale model, 3D video and virtual tour, specially created for the event, attracted a large audience, surprised and enthusiastic about Dufour's new project. It is worth noting that this is not entirely new territory for the shipyard, for some time they owned the Nautitech shipyard. And shortly after the launch of the project, the shipyard became part of the Fountaine Pajot empire.

The architects of the project were Umberto Felci and Lorenzo Giovannozzi, who have been cooperating with the shipyard since 2002. Known for their technical skills and foresight, they were able to develop a modern, elegant and innovative design in line with the philosophy Dufour yachts... Work on the project has continued over the past few years, while the demand for catamarans has increased more and more every season.
To ensure maximum safety and ease of handling, the mast has been moved back along the centerline of the boat to balance the weight and limit the tension on the mainsail. Headsails are larger and offer new possibilities, especially the use of an automatic staysail, with a sail area comparable to that of a genoa.
Total sail area of the catamaran Dufour 48 is 124 m2, the mainsail area - 72 m2 and the staysail area - 48 m2 - a combination that makes it easy to steer the boat in any situation.
