Solar panels have become an integral attribute of long trips on a yacht. Interparus will talk about a new product - Levante Origami folding batteries
An innovative approach to using solar panels on a yacht
Experienced and less experienced yachtsmen often face the problem of placing solar panels on board their boats. This is especially true for small and compact yachts up to 12 meters in length. On such boats, sometimes there is simply no space to install the required number of batteries that will fully cover the energy needs of the owners.
Over the past few years, solar panels have become a part of the lives of yachtsmen. Some appreciate the autonomy they give, while others consciously approach environmental issues. Against the backdrop of the popularity of solar panels, Levante presented its new product in September 2023. The company's engineers were inspired by the scientific research of NASA, the ancient Japanese art of origami and the Lego constructor. As a result, Levante Origami was born - a new word in yachting.
Unique Levante Origami design
Levante Origami is different from the classic solar panels that we are used to seeing on board our yachts. Unlike conventional batteries, which require stationary placement on the roof of the cabin, on top of a bimini or special racks, the new product is less demanding on its location on board.
Levante Origami is foldable and has several options for operation. The “compact” version will generate up to 75 watts of electricity, and when fully deployed, the battery is capable of generating 330 or 500 watts (depending on the battery version). By the way, the battery itself is double-sided, which also increases the working surface, allowing the Levante Origami to absorb more sunlight.
Levante Origami – the choice for avid travelers and owners of small yachts
The solar panel frame is made from recycled carbon fiber. Even the most powerful battery in the line (500 watts) weighs relatively little: just under 13 kg. Our conservative estimate is that this battery weighs 20% percent less than its peers. This result was achieved through the use of lightweight but durable carbon fiber.
Levante was supposed to begin production of its batteries in October of this year. The first deliveries to the United States are scheduled for December 2023. Regarding prices: the 330-watt version will cost $1,999, and the 500-watt version will cost $2,499. A relatively inexpensive solution for boats with limited space to install solar panels.
New video on Interparus channel
Hello friends! Today for you is the fluffiest video release from Interparus - Sasha Goron managed to interview a young inexperienced cabin boy Yoshi (Shiba Inu) about how he generally likes the owners’ idea of taking him on a boat and sailing. ⛵ Since most of you are unlikely to own a dog, Sasha told in his own words all of Yoshi’s thoughts, and also gave a lot of useful information about the life of a dog on yachts. Enjoy watching!
