The fight against hull fouling, a new line of amplifiers and sea trials of the largest sailing yacht - yachting news from Interparus!
Hull fouling goes to a new level
The Dutch decided to give battle to the urgent problem of yachtsmen, namely the fouling of the hulls. To solve this problem, three industrial giants of the Dutch maritime industry – Damen Shipyards, AkzoNobel and Philips – have teamed up. Companies have already created a concept and a prototype of how to prevent fouling of the hull by plants, polyps and other inhabitants of the seas and oceans.

If it seems to you that the concept is not enough, then, as practice shows, when a transnational corporation (AkzoNobel) is in your company, then it is not so far from concept to implementation.
A new technology to combat biofouling suggests the use of special UV-C LED lamps in the underwater part of the boat. These lamps will provide enough light to prevent fouling.
At the moment, small tests have been carried out and the result has been more than positive. According to AkzoNobel, Damen Shipyards has been a great addition to the team with its inventions in the field of environmental protection of surfaces, and Philips with advances in the field of electronics using ultraviolet light.

Now companies are creating a truly mass product and its implementation in the maritime industry. According to company representatives, yachting is one of the important segments where technology can be actively applied.
News for true audiophiles!
JL Audio has introduced a new line of musical equipment. The new products are the development of the ideas of the company's older amplifiers. This time the models XD (for motorists) and M (for boats and yachts) were presented.

The main advantages of the new amplifiers are dimensions, sound quality and reliable materials from which they are made. You should not be embarrassed by the code name from the manufacturer, because XD can also be installed on a boat. However, the beauty of this line lies precisely in its versatility.
The new XDM series, in addition to the conditional division into automotive and marine amplifiers, also has other configurations. They differ mainly in power levels.
In addition to reducing noise levels and the ability to use RCA, as well as a variety of operating modes, NexD switching, XDM amplifiers are also equipped with a whole range of frequency filters.

And finally - JL Audio used Advanced Rollback Protection technology when creating amplifiers. This technology works as a kind of stop-cock. If the amplifier reaches an unsafe temperature during operation, a special circuit will reduce the peak output power until the device cools down. In this case, the sound should not noticeably change. Once temperatures return to a manageable range, the circuit will automatically return to full peak output power.
Koru retests
Literally in early April, the media was buzzing that Jeff Bezos received his superyacht Koru. However, the billionaire will have to wait a little longer for his three-masted schooner.
As it turned out, Jeff did visit the yacht. Right now, Koru is moored near Mallorca, where she is undergoing sea trials. However, as it turned out, another visit to the shipyard could await the schooner. This time with the aim of bringing the boat to the absolute ideal. It depends on passing the test.

However, Bezos did not have long to wait. It is reported that the billionaire should finally get the yacht at his disposal this summer. The creation of Koru is still at the finish line, so we are waiting for news from the happy owner of the largest sailing yacht in the world.
