Groupe Beneteau sells part of its business, the launch of the Sunreef 80 Eco and the imminent launch of the Reichel-Pugh 44m are the main yachting news from Interparus!
Groupe Beneteau sells a number of its subsidiaries
Recently it became known that Groupe Beneteau is negotiating with Trigano. Trigano is the European market leader in leisure and tourism vehicles. The essence of the negotiations is the sale of subsidiaries of Groupe Beneteau, which specialize in creating holiday homes. These companies include BIO Habitat, as well as the brands O'Hara, IRM and Coco Sweet. It is interesting that not only the sale of companies will be carried out, but also jobs will be saved along with employees.
Groupe Beneteau is selling some of its subsidiaries in order to focus on the production of yachts and improve its position in the market. Now the company will be able to:
– Accelerate growth and improve the quality of nine of its brands that focus on yachting; these brands operate in four areas - day sailing, monohulls, multihulls and seafront properties.
– accelerate development in new types of production and activities related to yachting; this is especially true for the provision of new services for end users - more emphasis on digitalization and personalization.
– take more concrete steps towards greening the industry and solving the problem of recycling materials; the company is also going to integrate more alternative power plants on its boats by 2030; plans to completely switch to alternative energy sources and energy carriers.
Beneteau CEO Bruno Thivoion says: “We are very proud of what our subsidiaries' brands have achieved since their inception in 1994. Now that these brands have merged with Trigano, they have all the opportunities for development that the ecosystem of a major European player opens up for it.”
Sunreef Yachts launches all-electric Sunreef 80 Eco
Sunreef Yachts has launched the all-electric Sunreef 80 Eco. This is a fully autonomous catamaran that uses revolutionary "green" technology to travel without fuel and in complete silence due to the lack of generators and other equipment.
The Sunreef 80 Eco solar power system, unique in the industry, includes ultra-lightweight composite solar panels integrated into the sides of the hull, saloon and bimini roof. This patented system was designed and built entirely in-house by Sunreef Yachts.
While under sail, the Sunreef 80 Eco regenerates energy from the passive movement of two propellers, thanks to an advanced hydro-generation system. The resulting energy is used to power both the electric power plant and household appliances.
Below the main deck of the yacht is a battery bank made up of custom-made batteries. Batteries are lightweight and have a high capacity. Also on board is air conditioning, which is one of the lightest and most efficient in the industry.
Sunreef 80 Eco can accommodate up to 12 guests. On the starboard side of the catamaran is a luxurious and bright master cabin with a double bed, retractable TV, sofa and dressing table. The custom layout also includes a large port amidships cabin, as well as two identical guest cabins forward of each hull and an aft cabin.
Launching just around the corner: Reichel-Pugh 44m
Shipyard Vitters spoke about their new yacht Reichel-Pugh 44m. This is an aluminum sloop designed for all sailing conditions and high speeds. The creation of the corps began in 2022. Very soon the shipyard plans to send the yacht for finishing work. The launch is scheduled for 2024.
The yacht has an open transom and a flat deck, the picture is complemented by the smooth lines of the hull. Although the yacht is designed for high speeds, it is difficult to call it a thoroughbred racer. The interior offers a panoramic view - due to the huge windows, more sunlight will also penetrate into the interior.
The interior is designed by Design International, with dark wood paneling and brass fittings. There is room for eight crew members and a captain, as well as four double guest cabins. The master cabin is located across the entire width of the stern. The owner plans to circumnavigate the world aboard the yacht after he gets his hands on it.
