A Ukrainian architect has created the concept of a new houseboat!

Premiere and idea of “Universal Design”

At the World Congress of Architects in Copenhagen, which took place earlier this year, Loft buro, together with the Ukrainian architect A. Volosovsky, presented an interesting concept for a new houseboat. The project was presented as “a new model in the collection of universal houses for everyone.”

The main ideological feature of the project is the so-called. “Universal Design”. Its essence comes down to a simple idea - everything in design should be not only beautiful, but also practical. Moreover, such a design must be unified and suitable for each owner “without the need for adaptation or creation of a special design.” The concept of this design does not exclude the presence of special instruments and devices for people with health problems.

The design of the Pontoon houseboat was inspired by modern yachts. Volosovsky sought to create a durable and reliable structure that would be made from durable, but natural and environmentally friendly materials. Pontoon embodies the principles and goals of Loft buro. Comfort, environmental friendliness, convenience and durability - this is what Loft buro strives for.

Technical features and characteristics of Pontoon

Inside the Pontoon can accommodate up to 3 people. The houseboat itself is light enough to be transported by road or water transport. In addition, Pontoon has a rigid design that can withstand the elements.

There is a lot of free space on the “deck”. Here you can cook and relax, watch movies and enjoy sunsets. There is also a full lounge area with barbecue. Separately, I would like to highlight a large mosquito net, which will come in very handy in warm regions with an abundance of various insects.

One of the interesting features is a small pier for a jet ski or boat. There is a ramp with a swimming platform nearby. In total, there are 4 different rooms on board with a total area of 42.4 sq.m. The owners have at their disposal a salon with a kitchen, a bathroom, a master cabin with a large bed and a guest cabin.

Pontoon has large windows, thanks to which there is always enough sunlight inside. The outer walls of the houseboat are covered with aluminum composite panels with 10(!) centimeter thermal insulation.
