The talented designer Pierpaolo Lazzarini also presents this project under the name "crabmaran". True to its name, this steel and carbon catamaran has been designed to navigate soft terrain - sand or mud - thanks to its four motorized cylinders, which are actually spiral propellers.
During operation, the cylinders retract slightly, although not completely, to generate energy from movement through the water.
Twin engines with a capacity of 890 hp provide a maximum speed of 24 knots.
There is also an electric transmission and a large area of solar panels.
The central platform has a large cargo lift controlled by four winches, which allows vehicles to be transported.
Each hull has two or three cabins in addition to the galley and bathrooms.
The Pagurus can accommodate up to 8 passengers plus 4 crew members.
