The Cannes Yachting Festival 2024 has started! Interparus will tell you about several interesting sailing innovations that will be presented in Cannes.
The Cannes Yachting Festival is the main event of the autumn in the yachting world. The event is attended by many shipyards and manufacturers of yacht equipment. Among the great number of premieres and new products, we have identified five of the most interesting models of boats and catamarans that are worth paying attention to.

Sailing yacht Dufour 44
Dufour 44 is a new boat from the Dufour Yachts shipyard. The new product has become a logical development of the ideas laid down in the shipyard's previous yachts. Dufour 44 brings many interesting design solutions, which makes it not only a comfortable, but also a very beautiful boat.
Below deck, there is a spacious saloon with a convenient galley and passages to the cabins. On the left side there is a U-shaped sofa with a hexagonal table, which fits perfectly into the interior. There are two versions of the galley - compact and longitudinal. There can be either 3 cabins on board (1 master cabin and 2 guests), or 4 (2 bow and 2 stern).
Overall, the Dufour 44 is a well-thought-out boat, both in terms of ergonomics and interior volumes. The deck has everything you need for comfortable sailing. The helm post is optimized for easy control, and the cockpit has enough space for outdoor relaxation. The folding transom platform provides direct access to the water.
The designers and engineers have done a great job – and the Dufour 44 has a number of both purely “Dufour” features and well-thought-out solutions that make the yacht truly universal. The Dufour 44 is perfect for both active yachting enthusiasts and fans of leisurely cruises.
Compact boat Grand Soleil Blue
In 2024, the Grand Soleil shipyard delighted fans not only with the full-size Grand Soleil 65 LC yachts, but also with an unexpected new product. This was the miniature Grand Soleil Blue yacht. This boat became one of the smallest in the entire model range of the shipyard - only 11 meters in length.
Conceptually, the Grand Soleil Blue is closer to a day-sailer. Under the deck, there is a small cabin with sleeping places. The shipyard's designers even managed to squeeze in a compact galley on the port side. Ultimately, the Blue model is indeed ideal for short cruises in the company of a wife, husband, girlfriend, boyfriend or child, but it is difficult to imagine a long cruise on it.
In our opinion, the best way to describe Grand Soleil Blue is "luxury daysailer". It is definitely a very interesting and unexpected model, which is rare to find from shipyards like Grand Soleil. We wrote more about this boat in this article.
Sailing yacht Contest 63CS
The Dutch shipyard Contest Yachts continues to create unique yachts that are closer in spirit to superyachts. The new Contest 63CS is one of them. The 20-meter yacht is made of fiberglass and is positioned as a "luxury solution" for cruises of any distance.
The naval architecture was designed by renowned firm judel/vrolijk & co, while the interior was designed by superyacht designers Wetzels Brown Partners. The shipyard emphasizes the Contest 63CS's performance qualities, as well as the cabin capacity. In terms of interior design, the new yacht is truly superyacht-like, with its distinctive saloon design, attention to detail, and large skylights that look more like full-size windows.
At the Cannes Yachting Festival 2024, Contest 63CS will be officially presented for the first time. We expect full reviews soon.
Sailing catamaran Thira 80
Fountaine Pajot decided to create its own supercatamaran – and named it Thira 80. The catamaran can rightfully be called the flagship of the entire shipyard fleet. The 23-meter giant amazes not only with its dimensions, but also with the level of comfort that the shipyard managed to achieve.
Of course, the main advantage of the Thira 80 is its dimensions. Otherwise, it is a classic catamaran from Fountaine Pajot. Ergonomics of the steering post, a large number of places for storing things and water toys, focus on family yachting - all this is about the Thira 80.
Among the advantages, it is worth highlighting several interesting features of the catamaran. Firstly, there are impressive lockers all over the deck. You can even keep a full-fledged tender in the aft compartments. Secondly, the flybridge on the Thira 80 has reached a completely new level. Now it is not just a place to relax - the control post is located in the front part of the flybridge. Thirdly, the aft bathing platform is very large. Fourthly, the bow lounge area is equipped not only with comfortable sofas, but also with a full-fledged jacuzzi. What else do you need for an ideal cruise?
Sailing superyacht Dream Catcher
The Cannes festival will also be full of sailing superyachts. Among them is a yacht from Nautorʼs Swan, namely the Swan 88 model called Dream Catcher. In fact, the main feature of the new "swan" is that it is the first fully hybrid yacht of the shipyard.
Much depends on the success of this model, including the subsequent development vector of new Nautorʼs Swan yachts. Whether more hybrids or even fully electric yachts will appear under the "swan" label, we will find out quite soon.
The 24-metre Dream Catcher has a carbon fibre hull impregnated with epoxy resin. The yacht is equipped with a double rudder and there are as many as seven winches on the deck to control the sails. You can find out more about the Dream Catcher in this article.
