Dufour 54: New Sailing Yacht from Dufour Yachts

Each new model in the Dufour Yachts line brings something interesting to the established DNA of the shipyard. The Dufour 54 is no exception, continuing the development of ideas laid down in the model several years ago. Dufour 44.

Dufour 54 is the third model from the relatively "new" model range, which was created to gradually replace old models. The new yachts of the series have a characteristic hull and interior design, which emphasizes all the previous developments of the shipyard and adds new interesting solutions. So, what will the new Dufour Yachts please us with?

Dufour 54 Deck

The streamlined lines and modern hull shape on the Dufour 54 deck not only attract the eye, but also provide excellent stability and performance. As before, the central element of the deck layout is the cockpit. It is designed in the so-called U-shaped layout - on the sides of the passage there are two sofas with lifting tables, which can be converted into additional places for relaxation or even lowered flush with the deck.

Closer to the transom are two steering wheels on the left and right sides. On the roof of the cabin near the steering wheels are two winches on each side and two additional winches above the entrance to the saloon. All sail control elements are optimized for fast and effective sailing in any conditions.

The transom is folding and, as on other Dufour models, turns into a bathing platform with a convenient ladder. When folded, the transom is covered by three benches - two on the sides and one in the center. The benches fold out to provide access to the bathing platform and the aft galley. The folding platform itself covers access to additional lockers.

Sea Stern Cook

The "aft galley" is not as simple as it seems. In Dufour 54, the owner has several options for equipping this very galley. Thus, in the aft galley it is possible to install:

• one or two plancha grills;
• full-fledged refrigerator;
• sink.

Cooking can be done comfortably at the stern by folding down the transom platform. This arrangement is especially good for al fresco dining with your closest friends.

Sea Lounge Deck

The Dufour 54, as the largest model in the range, boasts an exceptional amount of free space on deck, especially amidships and the bow. However, the designers at Dufour Yachts have gone further – now there is a full-fledged sunbathing area on the roof of the wheelhouse, at the foot of the mast.

The comfortable sofa is installed in a very convenient place, which will be appreciated by both lovers of outdoor recreation and even sailing enthusiasts. Dufour Yachts has taken care of comfort as well - there are even cup holders on the Sea Lounge Deck.

Interior Dufour 54

Below deck, the Dufour 54 hides a familiar designer interior with first-class lighting. Due to the yacht's dimensions, it was also possible to make more skylights - now both the bow cabin and the saloon will have even more natural light.

Salon Dufour 54

The layout of the saloon is as follows: on the starboard side there is a U-shaped sofa with a square table and a galley, and on the port side there is a sofa with modular parts and an additional table with lockers. However, depending on the layout, the saloon may differ in the location of certain components.

Thus, the above-described saloon layout will be valid for three layout options - "Owner Cabin", "Owner Suite" and the four-cabin version. The galley on the port side will be located in the four-cabin version with an additional cabin with a bunk bed (Pullman) amidships.

Owner's cabin on Dufour 54

Probably the biggest changes are in the master cabin on the Dufour 54. There are two master cabin layouts available – the Owner Cabin and the Owner Suite. The Owner Cabin version will be furnished in the classic Dufour style: a large double bed located in the center, with a separate head on the port side. 

The Owner Suite version offers an updated design of the forward master cabin: a double bed is located on the starboard side, and an additional small sofa on the port side. Almost right next to the bow is a separate bathroom, and closer to the midship on the port side is an optional small cabin, which can be converted into a wardrobe, for example.

General layouts Dufour 54

In total, four layouts are proposed:

• with a newly designed master cabin + 2 aft cabins + 3 bathrooms;
• with a classic design master cabin + 2 aft cabins + 3 bathrooms;
• 2 bow cabins + 2 aft cabins + 3 bathrooms;
• 2 bow cabins + 2 aft cabins + cabin with bunk beds + 4 bathrooms.

Technically, a 6-cabin, 5-bathroom version is available if the optional skipper's cabin is selected, making the Dufour 54 one of the most spacious yachts on the market.

Conclusions on Dufour 54

The Dufour 54 is an exceptional yacht in every way. One of the largest in the range, with several layout options for all occasions and offering not only capacity but also performance, the Dufour 54 can rightfully be considered potentially one of the shipyard's best yachts of all time.
