Nautor's Swan shipyard recently launched its first hybrid, Dream Catcher. Interparus shares details about the new sailing yacht!
Hybrid sailing yacht
According to Nautor's Swan shipyard, the Swan 88 Dream Catcher is the company's first yacht to be designed as a hybrid yacht from the very beginning. The boat was created in collaboration with several famous companies.
Thus, the main partner of Nautor's Swan was the Torqeedo company, which helped develop a hybrid electric powertrain for the Swan 88. The design studio Mia Poggi, Micheletti & Partners and even the company of the legendary Herman Frers, the German Frers, had a hand in the design.
Like other Nautor's Swan yachts, the Swan 88 is positioned as a modern maxi yacht with classic design elements. The Swan 88 is set to be the start of a new range of yachts that will promote sustainable yachting.
On April 23, 2024, the yacht was launched and began its first sea trials.
Dream Catcher Deck
Dream Catcher has four deck areas - three towards the stern and one on the forecastle. The cockpit consists of three parts: a relaxation area with comfortable sofas and tables, a helm station and a swim platform on the transom. Additionally, when the swim platform is lowered, there is direct access to the garage for the tender and water toys.
It is also possible to install a bimini or sprayhood in the cockpit to protect against water. All yacht controls are located at the helm station. The exception is two winches on the roof of the cabin. By the way, the helm station also has folding seats that can be adjusted according to the owner's wishes.
There is a separate sunbathing area on the forecastle. There is also a large locker for sails and a box for anchor chain.
Features of Dream Catcher
To improve control, the Dream Catcher was equipped with dual rudders. The yacht's hull and deck are made of carbon fiber and impregnated with epoxy resin for greater strength.
The interior can be customized using 4 finishing options. The owner can choose from Timeless White, Traditional Navy, Wine Cowes and Spirit of Finland colors. The interior is designed in a modern style.
Swan 88 interior
As standard, Dream Catcher has 6 cabins and 6 bathrooms, including a master cabin in the bow. In addition to the master cabin with a large double bed, there are four double cabins with two beds and another cabin with one double bed.
The entire salon is divided into several zones. The midship part of the cabin is a place for relaxation and communication. There are comfortable sofas on both sides, and on the starboard side there is a full-fledged dining table. This part of the interior is slightly raised compared to the rest of the cabin. In the second area, closer to the stern on the starboard side, there is a U-shaped galley. On the left side there is another table with a sofa.
Dream Catcher will be shown at the Cannes Yachting Festival this year.
