White Island: the “white island” of the Aegean

The shipyard Aegean Yacht from Turkey is engaged in the creation of unusual superyachts. Aegean Yacht is one of those shipyards that is focused on building classic sailing yachts and ketch yachts. 

Aegean Yacht's new yacht is White Island. This is a two-masted ketch, which, with its appearance and style, refers to the sailing yachts of the “golden era”. 

The yacht was custom-built by an unnamed owner. The construction was based on steel (for the hull) and aluminum (for the masts). The interior is made of oak. 

White Island is fully designed and built by the shipyard. Aegean Yacht handled all phases of construction, from initial concept, layout, modeling, marine engineering and architecture to deck, exterior and interior design.

White Island Features 

The yacht is 39 meters long. The design of the “neoclassic” was worked out by the chief designer of the shipyard, Utku Ozgen, and the interior is the development of another designer, Sinanoma Sirichi. The design of the yacht was created in such a way that it can be used for both charter and private cruises.

The gross tonnage of domestic accommodation is 261 GT. On board White Island there is a master cabin in the bow, three VIP cabins, one double guest cabin and additional crew cabins. All cabins are bright and spacious. In total, the yacht can accommodate 10 guests and up to 6 crew members. 

It can be seen that they tried their best on the interior decoration and its design. There are large skylights in the cabin and plenty of natural oak and real leather has been used in the interior. The salon also has a large U-shaped sofa and a dining table.

There are several areas for recreation and entertainment on the deck, and a large dining area is located closer to the cockpit. White Island is powered by two 600 hp MAN engines. Under the engine alone, the yacht is capable of reaching speeds of 13 knots.
