Swan 108: the new 35m yacht from Nautor Swan

Finnish shipyard Nautor Swan continues to expand its Maxi Swan range. Recently, the shipyard launched its first 35-meter sailing yacht. Nautor Swan herself calls the new model an evolutionary step for the entire line of modern Maxi class yachts. 

The exterior was designed by Micheletti & Partners, the interiors were handled by Missa Pogi, and the architecture was handled by the legendary Herman Frers. The new Swan 108 is built from carbon and epoxy resin. Now this model will take place between the other flagships of the shipyard - Swan 98 and Swan 120.

By the way, one of the main features of the new sailing superyacht will be a large folding platform on the transom, which will allow you to spend time on the water or just sunbathe. 

According to the shipyard, such a large platform is a curiosity for Maxi yachts, but, as tests have shown, it is very comfortable and functional. In addition, thanks to the stern platform, interaction with the tender has been simplified. Other design and engineering innovations include extended cockpit coamings.

Swan 108 - a yacht for long distances

The sailing Swan 108 was originally positioned as a yacht that was created for the sea, speeds and “long marches”. As the yard describes the yacht, “Swan is able to provide comfort and calm in rough seas, and also demonstrates calm and confident movement in the most unpredictable situations.”

The Swan 108 comes with a versatile set of sails. The shipyard pays special attention to the fact that the mainsail not only has a boom twist, but also has a square top, which is ideal for fans of sailing and regattas.

The interior of the yacht is made in light colors with small patches of dark shades. As Missa Pogi, who was in charge of interior design, says: “I choose light colors to create an atmosphere and show how much space there is on board. Dark shades are used for a more, shall we say, intimate atmosphere. Everything around should create a feeling of immersion in a bright space in complete harmony with the outside world.”

Shipyard representatives say that the Swan 108 will mark the beginning of a new era in the Swan Maxi line. The Swan 108 will make its debut at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2023, and the second side is already under construction in Finland.
