Heads keep flying! Alas, so far in the role of the “head” is another superyacht. One of the most luxurious yachts in the world was arrested in the port of the Croatian tourist city of Rijeka. Interparus understands!
The yacht situation
As already mentioned, Royal Romance is moored in Rijeka, Croatia. In addition to Royal Romance, there are several other yachts of other Russian businessmen in Rijeka. They are currently under police surveillance due to the sanctions policy. At the same time, “police supervision” does not imply the seizure of property.

Royal Romance has been moored in Croatia for a long time. Another interesting fact is that it is reliably known that the yacht was owned by Medvedchuk until March last year. Whether the yacht has changed owners at the moment is unknown.
About the owner of Royal Romance
The reason for the arrest, of course, lies in the owner. This superyacht is owned by Viktor Medvedchuk, a disgraced Ukrainian oligarch and former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Medvedchuk is linked to pro-Russian movements within Ukraine. Accused and condemned by society for lobbying the interests of the Russian Federation.

In 2020, legal proceedings were initiated under the article “Treason”. Since then, Medvedchuk has wandered from one courtroom to another. On the evening of February 21, Medvedchuk escaped from custody (he was under house arrest) and disappeared. According to the assurances of the lawyer, he is still in Kyiv.
More about Royal Romance
Medvedchuk's superyacht is one of the five most luxurious yachts in the world. Designed and built by Feadship. The yacht has a luxurious swimming pool, several decks. Roughly speaking, a classic “luxury yacht”.
The yacht is powered by two 3000 hp diesel engines. Royal Romance has a top speed of 15 knots. The yacht is 92.5 meters long and 14.3 meters wide.

Royal Romance can accommodate up to 14 guests on board. At the same time, the number of service crew is 22 people. The yacht was launched in 2014. Already in 2015, Medvedchuk received it at his disposal.
