Regardless of your experience as a swimmer, water is always a source of risk. This risk increases significantly if there are no rescuers around. In open waters, visibility is often poor, therefore a quick response is critical.
PLOOTA: What does the smallest life jacket in the world look like?
PLOOTA is a new German sensor controlled safety device that is worn around your neck. While being compact and reusable at the same time, unlike most life jackets, c PLOOTA you can be under water. With this vest, you can swim, dive, including deep diving, while the device can be started when you need to return to the surface, both automatically and manually.
By its size, PLOOTA 50 times smaller than a conventional foam lifejacket. Another great feature is that the device is extremely light, weighs only 280 grams and allows you to practice high intensity water sports.
Built-in sensor technology recognizes water emergencies, and when your head is immersed for more than 30 seconds, the system is triggered. When PLOOTA inflates, reusable CO2 cartridges in front, filling two bags with carbon at once on the sides above the shoulders, lifting you to the surface of the water. The CO2 contained in the cartridges and floating cushions can keep you safe for over 6 hours.

PLOOTA is suitable for any height and weight, and is available in three sizes depending on the length of the neck circumference. With inflated pillows PLOOTA, only the head will be on the surface of the water. It also provides you with sufficient buoyancy to keep your head and airway above the surface of the water.
The device can be used by children aged 2 years and older, unlike most other life jackets. However, at this age children may not understand manual inflation, meaning parents can only rely on an automatic rescue system in case of an emergency. The automatic system is effective according to the developmental level only for children aged 7 years and older. It is important to understand that PLOOTA does not replace lifejackets or flotation training aids such as inflatable wings.

After every successful use (inflation) you need to empty the cushions completely and store them in the side pockets. Then activate start-up, put in a new CO2 cartridge, and PLOOTA ready to go again. At the end of the day, like life jackets or swimwear, floating pillows PLOOTA must be rinsed with fresh water and dried to avoid unpleasant odors. Another plus, the device can be taken with you on the plane, since the CO2 volume in the cartridges does not exceed the permissible limit.
