Sailing catamaran Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42
Astrea 42 is a spacious, thoughtful yacht design with many features tailored for a comfortable life on a long cruise. The 42-foot sailing catamaran features plenty of natural light, energetic lines, elegant living spaces and an unrivaled level of comfort.
This catamaran combines everything you need to ensure an impeccable experience on board. Astrea 42 completes the Fountaine Pajot Sailing Catamarans range, covering all size ranges from 40 to 67 feet: Lucia 40, New 45, Saona 47, Saba 50, Ipanems 58, Alegria 67.
The helm station is located high above the starboard decks, providing excellent sailing visibility - as well as an inspiring spatial imagination for maneuvering in the marina.
The sail controls are very practical and logical, you quickly get used to the sail plan. The boom-sheet shoulder strap is installed on the cockpit roof just aft of the helm station, which helps to quickly bring the mainsail into optimal shape. The boom is at a relatively low level and with the extended deckhouse roof it is easy to pack the mainsail into a bag.
Astrea 42 is also equipped with a Code Zero bowsprit and gennaker. In general, the Astrea 42 control system is tailored for the comfort of the skipper, that is, the catamaran is easy to control alone.
Astrea 42 was originally designed and equipped with features that give it excellent seakeeping and maneuverability. A good set of sails optimizes performance, and reverse bows are designed to maximize the length of the waterline. The steering wheel is very responsive in all conditions.
This new generation of cruising yachts has everything you expect from a high-class cruise.
