The shipyard apparently hired a so-so designer? No, these sharp corners are part of Astilleros Armon's idea - the new Origami concept is made in a deliberately angular style.
aluminum origami
Everyone knows the oriental arts and crafts of folding intricate and not very paper figures. As it turned out, origami continues to influence the minds and hearts of not only artists and needleworkers after millennia.

Astilleros Armon decided to take inspiration from unusual art and combine it with shipbuilding. The result was an interesting concept that has a simple but original name Origami.
This is not quite a yacht in the classical sense of the word - rather an auxiliary vessel. Origami was the first single-hull project of the Spanish company. Prior to this, catamarans from Astilleros Armon enjoyed enviable popularity. Now the shipyard has focused on monohull boats. What's more, Astilleros Armon is breaking into the single-shell market with an interesting design.
The main thing about Origami
The motorboat will be 64 meters long. Despite the sleek aluminum body, Origami will have quite a few curves. Indeed, when looking at the concept, only two thoughts slip through: “Either the designer of three-dimensional models was unsuccessfully chosen, or the style is rather peculiar.”

If you look at the boat from the stern, then interesting curves are not so noticeable. There is a heliport on the upper deck, and directly below it is a place to store tenders. Instead of three tenders, two tenders and a small submarine can also be located there.
Origami can carry on board a complete set of all the necessary supplies for the "mother" ship, paired with which the boat moves. Despite the fact that the boat is listed as "auxiliary" to a larger yacht, up to 22 crew members can be accommodated on board.
Origami Features
Inside Origami will be a fairly spacious interior. The standard layout includes a saloon, crew quarters and a gym. At the request of the customer, it is also possible to expand the range of available cabins - this is how additional crew cabins and cabins for guests will materialize on board. The biggest travel and science lovers can even book some science labs and research rooms!

Origami is designed to overcome almost any sea obstacles. The draft of the boat will be 3 meters. On board it is possible to transport not only fuel for the Origami itself, but also for the “mother” yacht.
Among other interesting things - the delivery time of the boat. Astilleros Armon has considerable experience in commercial shipbuilding. Customers can count on the rapid implementation of the project and the delivery of the boat in a fully operational condition in the shortest possible time. There are no details about Origami's driving performance yet.

As other reviewers aptly pointed out: “When can we expect an origami-style plane?” Let's see, perhaps such a project will be implemented for commercial use.

By running the test over a long period of time in vivo and without the use of laboratory measurements, we wanted to find out how the Ultrasound system of protection against build-ups works. To do this, for four months, we used four ultrasonic sensors installed on the hull of the brand new yacht Varianta 44, which detected vibrations.

Shore services around the world require boats sailing in coastal waters or on the high seas to carry a set of visual distress signals. Almost always, these sets include pyrotechnics. But are we sure that this somewhat outdated technology is the most efficient and safest way to call for help?
