New fun concept! A fusion of speed and aesthetics - Interparus is trying to figure out what the Mylius M 72 will be like.
Chief Designer Mylius M 72
Sean Karkick's latest racing yachts - including the Fast 40 Ran, the CF520 Oystercatcher XXXV and the Carkeek Persico F70 Thoroughbred Foiler - are some of the standout designs of their generation.
When Sean decided to design a high performance cruising yacht, it was inevitable that he would create a yacht unlike any other. Add to that the already proven pedigree of the Italian shipyard Mylius. The synthesis of such a union will be the absolutely stunning Mylius M 72.
A body built for racing
A powerful hull shape with a convex bow and sloping forward upper sides, streamlined shapes, a deck with a minimum of rigging - this boat is designed for high speeds. The rudders are visible above the water, and the bottom is crowned with a reinforced keel.
In addition to the aero and hydrodynamic forms, such a yacht still needs a serious approach to the design. To do this, the engineers used a special finite element analysis (FEA).
Although this tool has been around in yacht building for decades, it is time consuming and expensive to manufacture. Despite this, in order to achieve high speeds and ensure the comfort of customers, they went to these complex engineering and mathematical tricks.
The innards and keel of Mylius
The cockpit on the deck is located as close to the stern as possible. We dare to assume that the boat will have a fairly large bathing platform. If the Mylius is not used in racing, then, according to the manufacturer, it is perfect as a boat for a day cruise.
Below deck is a luxurious interior with four cabins, a full-beam saloon and a spacious galley. As for the bathrooms and their location, there are no details yet.
Mylius has an extra deep lifting keel. It can be used with ballast water technology for added wind resistance.
