Briefly about BRIG

The company produces more than 2500 RIBs (rigid bottom inflatable boats) annually. At the moment, this company is the largest manufacturer of RIBs in the world. Alas, since the beginning of a full-scale war in Ukraine, the company has suspended its activities. It was dictated by banal safety precautions.

BRIG evacuated its employees away from the fighting. And rightly so - the plant can be bombed, but it can be restored. And the loss of valuable personnel and “golden” hands is much more difficult to restore.

After the shelling

Production is located in Dergachi, a small town in the Kharkov region. Why do we write that “production is located”, and not “was located”? Because according to the comments of company officials, most of the damage was received by the construction site and the warehouse of ready-made RIBs. Most of the workshops themselves remained intact.

Yes, the losses are unpleasant, many finished boats have been destroyed, many of which have already been bought and paid for. Despite this, company representatives say that financially the company is quite stable even in such conditions. BRIG will refund money to all customers for boats who deem it necessary. 

Company support

To support employees, the BRIG Family Foundation was created. It is an association funded by donations from BRIG distributors worldwide, BRIG dealers in France, friends and relatives, BRIG owners and friends, European shipyards, suppliers. This will help those in need. 

What about deliveries in the near future?

There are no stocks, except for the leftovers from some dealers. At this time of the year, BRIG usually delivers around 100 boats to France, most of which have already been sold. 

This year it was necessary to deliver another 250 boats, but they will not be produced. For us, this is a disaster. Three important brands (BRIG, Gala and Galaxy) are produced at the BRIG plant in Ukraine and account for 90% of the company's turnover. And even in this situation, the company's management and employees do not lose their optimism and cheerful mood.

prospects

Company representatives say that BRIG will definitely return! All distributors are willing to invest money to help production. It is reported that BRIG receives impressive financial support from outside. While the heads of the company do not know what scenario to work on. 

The option of reopening the plant in another country is being considered, but many of the management staff refuse such a prospect. More and more people are inclined to leave production in Ukraine. But for now, BRIG is waiting for the situation to stabilize for the final adoption of further decisions.
