Besteaver's smallest yacht

Many shipyards increase the dimensions of their cruise models with each new model. The Bestevaer shipyard covers a segment of the market that loves smaller sailboats than 15-meter beauties. 

The new model Bestevaer 36 was designed by Gerard Dijkstra, one of the most famous naval architects. In addition, the new Bestevaer 36 is the shipyard's smallest yacht in 20 years.

Gerard relied on the following principles when designing a yacht:

- the design should not be catchy, but cute;

- safety and convenience above all;

– unlimited possibilities for cruising alone or with a very small crew.

Thanks to its compact dimensions, the Bestevaer 36 is capable of not only feeling good in high latitudes, but also in shallow waters and lakes. As Dijkstra himself says: “The Bestevaer 36 is a small yacht with perfect handling. This is a very versatile boat. It's easy to travel around the world, but it's also perfect for exploring the local wetlands.”

If Dijkstra had collaborated with another brand, we would hardly have seen a 10-meter aluminum cruiser. Bestevaer is famous for the use of aluminum in its boats, which has become the hallmark of the shipyard. 

The Bestevaer 36 has a 2 ton lifting centerboard which provides extra stability. In the raised state, the centerboard reduces the draft to 0.7 m, which makes the boat almost all-terrain.

All sail controls are brought to the cockpit, which also simplifies the management of the yacht. The interior can be decorated at the request of the owner, and there are as many as three layout options to choose from. 

Also, the owner can order a grotto with a square top. It comes standard with a regular mainsail with a 95% jib. 

Ecological solutions and the first building

Due to the use of aluminum in the construction of the yacht, the shipyard immediately had a question regarding recycling. Thus, the Bestevaer 36 70% has an aluminum body, as well as an interior finish that can be recycled. 

Also on board is a 15 kW OceanVolt electric motor and 4 hours of battery life.

So far, the first hull is at the stage of fine-tuning and preparation for launching. More video and photo materials can be seen a little later, after the official premiere. 

Reviewers, however, have already given their assessment of the new yacht. According to them, the Bestevaer 36 is perfect for solo yachtsmen or a couple of friends who want to leave civilization for a while. For family yachtsmen, “the yacht may seem too austere”.
