Summing up the results of the 2021-2022 season continues. Cruising World has published its list of nominees for the title of "Best Full Size Cruiser"! So which sailing yachts made the list of the best? Analysis from Interparus!
The judges had three main contenders. This Salona 56, Cigale 16 and Hylas H57. And all three boats are good in their own way! Despite this, the judges had to make their choice. We invite readers to feel like judges - in each subsection with boats there will be a small vote, and at the end of the material there will be a rating based on your votes! Let's start the analysis.
Salona 46
Salona 46 was created in collaboration with the J&J Design team. With two saildrives, the Oceanvolt ServoProp can reach decent speeds and still be environmentally friendly!

In saildrive mode Salona 46 work to recharge lithium batteries. Unlike their saildrives, otherwise 46th the model has a very traditional and well-executed interior, and high-quality carpentry is visible in the furniture.

Thanks to the galvanized lattice structure of the body, Salona 46 is one of the most durable yachts on the market. It correctly distributes the load from running and standing rigging, mast and keel. Everything is in its place and this complements the already high driving performance.
According to the manufacturer, in long-range mode, the 46th model will be able to cover about 70 miles at a speed of 3 to 3.5 knots. If you are completely unbearable, then there is always the opportunity to install a diesel generator. This will help recharge the batteries.
By the way, the reviewers noted the smoothness of control under two helms and a sail. According to them, the boat was very responsive and manageable.

Cigale 16
French shipbuilder Alubat has a long and impressive history of building aluminum yachts. The company created yachts that gave sailors unsurpassed performance and reliability. But is this true for the model? Cigale 16?

The design for the boat was created by designer Mark Lombard. His main goal was to create a yacht that could surprise people with its sailing performance. At the same time, in his previous designs, Mark never forgot about the luxury and convenience of the interior and decoration of the yacht. Well, according to the judges, Mark did not disappoint this time either.

Layout Cigale 16 below deck is really interesting. Salon and galley are located under the cockpit. There are also several bedrooms. By the way, what about the cabins? The master cabin is located in the forward part of the saloon and two more cabins are spaced along the sides.
Main advantage Cigale 16 in front of other yachts - her control under sail. If you describe the management of this yacht in a nutshell, then “sharp” and “maneuverable” come to mind. Staysail here is your reliable friend and comrade. You may not be sure about the comfort of the cabins, but doubt the driving performance Cigale 16 you just don't have the right! This is a really powerful boat that is pleasant to drive and feel the real energy and power of the sea under your feet.

Hylas H57
Hylas 57 is a more mature boat in every sense, but in reality it only gives a few bonus points to the yacht.
One of the judges remarked:Hylas 57 clearly created by experienced builders who have an idea of what a modern cruising yacht can be. This is a new design and a departure from the traditional look of Hylas, but retains the quality of construction and build that the company is known for.

From Bill Dixon's design to integrated sail control systems, deck styling and interior finishes... H57 is a fresh approach that shows that nothing has been taken for granted, but analyzed by experienced sailors to ensure safe passages and a comfortable life on board.”

The boat is equipped with systems designed so that its powerful and versatile cabin can be handled by just two people or a very small crew. The sails are set and stowed mechanically, and the camera system allows you to control their setting (as well as many other areas of the yacht).
On this yacht, you will be able to transmit video to the multifunctional displays at the helmsman and on the chart table. All this, plus a cockpit with a rigid bimini and side panels that can cover it, takes the watch in difficult weather conditions to a whole new level.
The judges also noted the thoughtfulness of the use of various technologies to facilitate the management of the boat. Control under sail, under the engine, design and reliability - all these qualities have helped Hylas 57 win the love of the judges.
