The new Beneteau Oceanis 34.1 has replaced the Oceanis 34 sailing yacht. The model's philosophy is ease of handling. Also, do not forget that this boat is a competitor to the Dufour 360! Let's take a closer look at the sailing yacht Beneteau Oceanis 34.1 and compare it with the famous Dufour 360.
Deck design and engineering
Beneteau Oceanis 34.1 adopted all the distinctive features of its predecessor. The width remains the same large, the body is full-sized and practical, there are also double rudders and two helms.

The layout of the deck has been changed to ensure maximum comfort and safety for yachtsmen. Mainsail controls (halyard and sheet) are located close to the cockpit, and winches are located along the sides to control the staysail sheets. The result is a spacious cockpit that is easy to use for both steering and lounging. Among other things, access from the cockpit to the aft bathing platform is fairly easy.

The goal of the yacht's upgrade is to increase space on and below deck, as well as improve hull stability and roll speed. At the same time, maintain a relatively narrow waterline for better navigation in light winds.
Sailing armament and hull
The yacht is equipped with a self-tipping staysail and a classic lazy-bag mainsail. There is also an option to install the mainsail on a twist into a mast or a mainsail with a square top. The main sheet is brought to the cockpit, a little further from the rudders. There are models with genoa.

One of the interesting features of the boat is the absence of a backstay! The sailing rig is ⅞, and rhombus shrouds are also installed to ensure the reliability of the mast fastening. Thus, the engineers managed to free up space in the stern.

The boat has three keel options: large, shallow and hydraulic lifting daggerboard. All three options are good for certain conditions, so choose based on what you need.
Interior Design
The Nauta designers have created a chic, contemporary interior in elegant walnut or light oak finishes. Deck hatches and numerous portholes in the hull and roof let natural light into the boat and provide excellent ventilation.
At the moment there are two available versions - with two or three cabins.

In the cabin there is a thoughtful convertible table providing two extra berths. An L-shaped galley is located on the starboard side, the chart table is located on the port side.
Specifications and comparison with Dufour 360
In a way, the Beneteau Oceanis 34.1 and the Dufour 360 are virtually identical. These boats compete quite hard among themselves in the "same weight category". Of course, the most noticeable differences are the presence of an afterstay and a bimini. Despite this, Dufour's classic sailing layout is to the taste of a greater number of our customers.

It is also important to understand that the price segment of boats is approximately the same. At the same time, the Dufour 360 is the perfect balance between the latest in yachting fashion and the traditional "buns" from the company. Just below you can compare the characteristics with your own eyes.

It all started with a crazy idea of a friend to go to study at the German yachting school Hanseatishe Yachtschule Glucksburg (DHH) in the city of Glucksburg. Spending time on the cold May Baltic Sea instead of the supposed wallowing in the warm sands of Egypt was not part of my plans, but the desire to escape from the noisy metropolis and everyday routine did its job, and I began to pack my suitcases.
