An insane concept from M51 Concepts is a complete Amplitude superyacht with wingsail technology. We are studying a new concept together with Interparus!
Amplitude fresh design
Anthony Glasson, designer at M51 Concepts, has been thinking for years about how a sailing and motor superyacht can be combined together. And so, in 2023, Anthony came up with a solution - to create a superyacht using “sail wing” technology or wingsail.

The new yacht will be called Amplitude and will be 94 meters long. As planned by the designer, she should “combine the comfort and power of a motor yacht and the environmental friendliness of a sailing yacht”.
In addition to a whole range of interesting technologies (which are just below), Amplitude was clearly created to attract attention. Eye-catching, futuristic designs with a sci-fi ambience sit alongside traditional materials such as wood and even marble.

Glass vaults inside the yacht and giant tempered glass inserts on the outside, streamlined lines and eye-catching shades - all in the best traditions of luxury yachts.
Innovative technologies
Of course, the highlight of the program are the wingsail masts. Sails, like masts, are lifting, i.e. raised or removed as needed. In underpowered mode, the sails are completely hidden in the hull along with the masts.

Thanks to the wingsail, the designers expect to achieve a reduction in fuel consumption. According to Glasson, the sails will be paired with powerful solar panels. Amplitude has 260 square meters of solar panels on board.

According to preliminary estimates, the cruising range powered by solar panels in conjunction with sails will be about 5,000 miles. Due to the environmental friendliness of technology, Amplitude's carbon footprint over the entire journey will be an order of magnitude smaller than that of other superyachts of similar dimensions.
Indoor Amplitude and Entertainment
The master cabin will be the full width of the hull. The owner's apartment also has a separate large bathroom with a bathtub and glass partitions. There will be two more VIP cabins and four double cabins on board. Amplitude can accommodate 10 guests in total. There are two cabins for the crew.

On the aft deck there will be a large swimming pool, a dining table with 12 seats. Closer to the nose is a full-fledged lounge area with a jacuzzi and sun loungers. Inside the yacht there will also be a dining area, a lounge and a bar.
Nowhere and without a full-fledged platform for swimming. There is also a large luggage area that can easily fit water toys and an impressive tender.

Find out what factors affect the smoothness of your boat Comparing dead-lift angles is a traditional way to find out how smoothly your boat is sailing. In other words, a higher deadrise means the ability to reach higher speeds without the effect of longitudinal rocking or pogoing. But deadweight is not only a characteristic that determines how well a boat will cut waves when moving. Let's take a closer look at the definition of "deadweight" and then consider other parameters that affect the smoothness of the boat. I hope this article will help you decide on your choice of a promising boat model for a test drive at the next boat shows.
