AirYacht Superyacht: the reincarnation of the airship

The essence of the concept

Designers Guillaume Hodde and Mathieu Ozanne have created a new 2-in-1 yacht concept. It consists of a luxurious 197-foot (60 meters) superyacht and a giant 656-foot (200 meters) airship. The peculiarity of AirYacht is that both the airship and the yacht can be used separately from each other.

The detachable balloon will be driven by a hybrid propulsion system. Although the team hopes that in the future it will run solely on hydrogen. Reportedly, an airship designed for three people. He will be able to reach speeds of 50 knots and fly at an altitude of about 3 km above the ground. According to the company, the autonomous flight time is about one week.

The designers themselves nicknamed the yacht "residence". It has an aerodynamic body made entirely of ultralight carbon fiber. Living quarters located on three levels. They can accommodate up to 12 guests in five or six cabins. The yacht also has many amenities. These include a jacuzzi, swimming pool, spa, gym, helipad and garage for cars and tenders.

Peculiarities

Interestingly, the yacht itself does not have engines, as they increase the weight of the vessel. By and large, the airship must tow the yacht while it is on the surface of the water. 

AirYacht is also equipped with an innovative descent system, or "elevator". It allows you to easily launch (or raise) the superyacht without the need for the airship to touch the ground.

Designed by Frank Darnet of Darnet Design, the AirYacht should not be confused with Lazzarini's crazy flying superyacht concept of the same name. However, there is still a similarity: both yachts are powered by helium airships and can rise into the sky and travel across the sea.

AirYacht says orders are now open with first delivery scheduled for late 2026.
